John O. Kollie

FOUNDER/DIRECTOR

Mr. John O. Kollie  is the Founder and Executive Director, responsible for the management of the Liberia Media  for Democratic Initiatives (LMDI), including the staff, project activities and finances. John O. Kollie has been the Executive Director LMDI since its establishment.  John is a Liberian journalist with more than 18 years of media working experience. He has received awards for his journalism and astute practice of the profession from the Press Union of Liberia, PUL and was awarded the prestigious National Endowment for Democracy, NED Fellowship at the International Forum Democratic Studies in Washington D.C. in 2006.  John also works for Radio France International (RFI) as one of its senior English correspondents in West Africa. He works for the BBC World Service Trust (WST) as one a team of eight reporters from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea covering the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor before the UN backed Special Court for Sierra sitting at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Before his departure rather recently, John was engaged with the Washington Based Search for Common Ground supervising the media activities of the organization’s multi media Liberian project called the Talking Drum Studio based in Monrovia. At Search’s TDS Liberia, John also produced and presented two key popular Talk shows; ONE STEP BEYOND and POLICY ISSUES. John was the lead moderator of 2005 radio presidential and legislative town hall debates sponsored by the E.C. Bilateral and Carter Center.   John also works for the U.S. based accountability group, the Global Integrity (GI). He corresponds for Radio Netherlands.  John is an astute radio and TV program producer and presenter.  At the moment John produces and presents the LMDI’S DIALOGUE, our Outdoor Interactive Policy Dialogue Forum Radio and TV program. He moderates the LMDI’S “DIALOGUE”.

ADAM TOGBA

DEPUTY DIRECTOR

Adam is a highly experienced professional in the field of media and communications holding over eight years of experience. He serves as the deputy director at Liberia Media for Democratic Initiatives (LMDI). In addition to his role, Adam functions as a media and outreach officer for a Communication for Development (C4D) consultancy provided by LMDI for the WB/IFAD-funded Rural Economic Transformation Project (RETRAP) & Smallholder Agriculture Transformation and Agribusiness Revitalization Project (Project) of the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

With his extensive knowledge and skills in education, he takes on the responsibility of being the LMDI National Quizzing Moderator, overseeing and moderating pop quiz events throughout schools in Liberia under one of our signature programs, Tomorrow’s People.

 

Furthermore, he actively participates as a co-moderator in national community media forums and candidate debates, contributing to the promotion of democratic processes and civic engagement. Adam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Political Science, which equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the media landscape and political dynamics. He also serves a producer at LMDI. With his diverse roles and extensive experience, Adam  plays a pivotal role in the development and advancement of media initiatives, democratic processes, and agricultural communication strategies in Liberia. His dedication and contributions to the field make him a valuable asset to LMDI and its endeavoer

Leemue J. White

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Leemue holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from the University of Liberia. As the program officer, she oversees all program activities and has oversights over project implmentation with sponsored by our local and international partners.

Pinky N. Flomo

ACCOUNTANT

For over six years, Pinky has dedicated her time working as the chief accountant being fully responsible for the documenting all the institution’s financial records and system. Pinky holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Liberia.

JALLAH KANNEH JR.

VIDEOGRAPHER & EDITOR

He started his videographing career at the age of 16. With his desire to rise in the profession after benefiting from a series of mentoring and internships, Jallah joined the Liberia Media For Democratic Initiatives in 2018.
